Factory Seconds Brass Trio embarked upon their most recent tour in September, at the start of the Fall 2018 academic semester. The ensemble was pleased to be the first guests at a few of our country's most established and renowned music schools, including masterclass performances in the American Brass Quintet Seminar at The Juilliard School, The Curtis Institute of Music, The Manhattan School of Music, and SUNY Stony Brook. In Philadelphia, they collaborated with the Primavera Fund to present a masterclass and performance for an outstanding group of young instrumentalists. Performances featured wide-ranging repertoire, from the 12th Century Viderunt Omnes by Leonin to Robert Nagel's Trio No. 1 and Mobiles by Clint Needham.
FSBT also presented two concerts in Washington D.C. and Brooklyn, New York. The "D.C." area concert was coordinated by Sylvia Alimena, conductor of the Brass of Peace ensemble, and was presented at the home of "BOP", Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Virginia. The Brooklyn concert was performed at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Carroll Street. In each, FSBT presented a program of new and old music, including chansons of Arcadelt, the anonymous and centurial-spanned Mass of Tournai, Madrigaletti by David Loeb, and fugal selections from Hindemith's Ludus Tonalis.
